The main objective of the company's estate is situated in the Lakhimpur district of Assam and has a area of 742.73 hectares (1,834.56 acres) of land. The total planted tea area is 400.77 hectares. 1957 - Authorised capital increased. 48,000 Bonus Equity shares issued in the proportion 4:1. 1960 - Rate of dividend on Preference shares issued increased. 1961 - 60,000 Bonus Equity shares issued in the proportion 1:1. 1967 - 30,000 Bonus Equity shares issued in the proportion 1:4. 1974 - 50,000 Bonus Equity shares issued in the proportion 1:3. 1978 - The Company took on lease the factory of the Indian Paint Colour & Varnish Co. Ltd., Calcutta as a going concern for two years with effect from 10th June. - 1,00,000 Bonus Equity shares issued in the proportion 1:2. 1983 - Fairly big trees and tea nurseries were raised. Extensive drainage work was taken up to combat water-logging. Replantation was carried out in 6.76 hectares. 1986 - The Company installed artificial sprinkler irrigation system and raised extensive tea nurseries. - The name of the company was changed from Joonktollee Tea Co., Ltd. to the present one. 1987 - The production of tea increased by 12.8% over that of the previous year. However, the profits were reduced due to increase in cost of production, higher depreciation charges and lower sales realisation. 1988 - The Company undertook replantation in 9 hectares. 1989 - 8.57% Preference shares redeemed. 1991 - Apart from packing in polypouches of 250 gms., the company also proposed to bring tea in 100 gms. pouches to cater to wider markets. - A capital expenditure was incurred for purchases of machinery, construction of labour housing and roads etc. 2011 -Joonktollee Tea & Industries Ltd has recommended dividend @ Rs. 2.50 each per shares 2012 -Joonktollee Tea & Industries Ltd. has entered into an agreement with M/s. Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Ltd. for acquisition of Sreemoni Tea Factory 2014 -The Company have recommended dividend Rs. 6/- each per share for the year 2013-14 2016 - Joonktollee Tea & Industries Ltd has received Golden Leaf India Awards 2016.
