The Company was incorporated as `Rail India Technical and Economic Services Private Limited' on April 26, 1974 as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956 and was granted a certificate of incorporation by the then Registrar of Companies, Delhi & Haryana. The word `private' was deleted from the name of the Company* on February 17, 1976. Thereafter, the name of the Company was changed to its present name, `RITES Limited' on March 28, 2000, pursuant to a fresh certificate of incorporation issued by the RoC, National Capital Territory of Delhi and Haryana.
