IEX’s Green Market segment completes one year and achieves cumulative volume of ~2867 MU since inception in August 2020 with ~100 market participants. Strong volume performance reflected in 13% rise in IEX’s stock price in today’s trade.

The day-ahead market volume was at 5,699 million (up 54% y-o-y), real-time market volume grew by 4.2% m-o-m to 1473 million units. The term-ahead market volume at 349 million units and the green term-ahead market was at 186 million units (up262% m-o-m). Strong volume growth is positive and bodes well for earnings growth of IEX.

    19 Apr 2021 , 3:05PM Indian Energy Exchange (IEX): The company has commenced Cross Border Electricity Trade (CBET) on its power trading platform with Nepal being the first country to participate in the day-ahead market on the exchange. Currently, the Cross Border Trade of power with neighboring countries for India stands at about 18 billion units and the same is expected to increase to ~40 billion units by FY2022 and ~70 billion units by FY2027. We highlight here that IEX is working closely with PTC, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd. (NVVN), and all other nodal agencies to facilitate inter-country power trade through the power exchanges and focus to tap new opportunities like CBET is a positive with respect to volume growth for IEX.
