Post Market Update- Sensex gains 612 points, Nifty above 25,000

1. BHEL won Rs. 11,000 crore orders from Adani Power and its subsidiary

2. Bajaj Auto aims to ride on sales of 40,000 CNG bikes by Jan 2025.

Indian indices-

The benchmark indices closed higher on August 26, after Fed Chair Powell at its latest meeting hinted interest rate cuts in the near future. All the sectoral indices ended in the green with Information Technology, Metal, Oil & Gas, Realty up 1-2%. The BSE midcap index was up 0.5% and smallcap index was up 0.2%. At the end, the Sensex was up 611.90 points or 0.75% at 81,698.11. The Nifty was up 187.45 points or 0.76% at 25,010.60.

Rupee ended at 83.90/$ against August 23 close of 83.89/$.

Buzzing stocks on BSE-

1. DCW gained 4.85% to Rs. 86.05, Astral rose 1.48% to Rs. 1,974, after govt extends anti-dumping duty on CPVC imports.

2. Max Estates advanced 7.03% to Rs. 688.60, after company gets NOIDA nod for "Delhi One" Commercial Project.

3. Ashoka Buildcon increased 1.23% to Rs. 235.25, after company emerged as lowest bidder for Rs. 478 crore project.

4. NIIT shares locked in 20% upper circuit at Rs. 153.90, after Ramesh Damani acquired stake in company.

Global Signals -

Asia-Pacific markets were mixed as Middle East tensions rise.

Europe stocks were also mixed as investors weigh risk of wider Middle East conflict.
