R Kalyanaraman
Chief Executive Officer – Espresso
R Kalyanaraman is the Chief Executive Officer of Espresso, reporting to Jaideep Arora, CEO of the Sharekhan group. Kalyan is responsible for managing the overall operations of Espresso, the discount broking subsidiary of Sharekhan, and is focussed on making “Espresso” one of the most loved and trusted brands in the discount broking space.
Prior to moving into the corner office of Espresso in 2020, Kalyan successfully led and implemented in 2019 Project Leapp, which culminated in the launch of the discount broking business of Sharekhan. He started his journey in Sharekhan in 2002 in the franchise business department and played a pivotal role in setting up the company’s first set of franchisees. In 2005, he moved to the Client Acquisition team, where he was instrumental in making Sharekhan the preferred choice of over 2 million investors and traders across India. As the Head of the Client Acquisition team, Kalyan demonstrated strong leadership by consistently guiding and inspiring the sales staff to deliver fantastic results across the network.
Kalyan joined Sharekhan from Standard Chartered Bank, where he did a short stint as Area Sales Manager. Before that, he had worked with ICICI Bank for two years in a managerial role. He began his career in sales with Asian Paints and has more than 29 years of work experience.
Kalyan earned his postgraduate diploma in Business Administration from ITM Business School, Mumbai and holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Mumbai.
An impressive singer, music lover and fan of Amitabh Bachchan, Kalyan likes to spend his spare time with family.
