Amit Arora
Chief Executive Officer – SBPFSL
Amit Arora is the Chief Executive Officer of Sharekhan BNP Paribas Financial Services, reporting to Jaideep Arora, CEO of the Sharekhan Group. Amit is responsible for the overall management of the non-banking financial company (NBFC). He also handles the role of Head – Loans for the group.
One of the founding members of Sharekhan, Amit joined the company in February 2000 in the position of Relationship Manager. Within seven years of joining, he was promoted to the position of Head – Operations and in October 2021 he was appointed the chief of the NBFC subsidiary of Sharekhan. Amit has demonstrated strong leadership and business acumen, and been the strongest pillar of Sharekhan’s operations in the more than two decades that he has been with the company.
Before Sharekhan, he worked with Sykes & Ray Equities where he spent five years in the position of Associate Director. Born and brought up in the financial capital of India, he was a keen follower of the stock markets from an early age and turned his passion for finance and financial markets into a full-fledged career. He has total work experience of 28 years in the field of finance.
Amit holds an MBA from Institute of Technology and Management, Mumbai and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Shri Chinai College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
Every day is a new opportunity to learn for Amit and he attributes to Sharekhan one of the biggest lessons of his life, “hard work and honesty pay in the long run”, given his belief that both the values are deeply entrenched in the ethos of the organisation. A 23-year Sharekhan veteran, he feels the best part about his journey in Sharekhan include finding some great friends within the organisation, building great relationships with many Business Partners across the country and being mentored by the holy trinity of Sharekhan (late Tarun Shah, Shankar Vailaya and Jaideep Arora) in the initial days of his career.
He is passionate about work and M3 is his formula for relaxation and destressing after a hectic day of work: music, movies and meditation.
