We are happy to inform you that Sharekhan has organised additional mediclaim insurance benefit for its third-party staff with Quess Corp and Randstad India Pvt Ltd. The group mediclaim insurance policy already covers COVID-19 for the full-time staff. Sharekhan recognises the need of its staff for financial protection in the event of illness, disease or injuries that result in medical expense. For this reason, the company has arranged Corona Kavach mediclaim policy of Rs.1 lakh for its third-party staff to cover COVID-19. The details of Corona Kavach medical insurance policy are as follows.

* Waiting period: For example, if the employee’s date of joining or coverage effective date is January 1, 2021, claims can be encouraged only from January 16, 2021. If the employee is found COVID-19 positive between 1st and 15th of January and treatment is taken during this period, the policy will not cover the expenses. The waiting period is not negotiable.

Staff cannot claim the benefits under both group medical cover (GMC) and Corona Kavach policy. A claim from a staff is admissible in only one policy. Staff are advised to utilise the COVID-19 policy coverage for COVID-19 tested cases. Once the sum insured under the COVID-19 insurance policy is exhausted, the staff can claim the remaining amount in the GMC policy as per the terms and conditions.
